Scholarships are processed - worldwide - for the children or dependents of Abbott employees according to various cycles or timelines. It is very important to submit your application prior to the deadline for your area. For students in the U.S. and Puerto Rico to be considered eligible, the online application must be completed by March 15, 2010. Applications for the 2010/2011 school year will be available on January 4, 2010. 

Required documentation to complete your application must be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to Scholarship America for processing and must be postmarked or received by March 15, 2010.  Late information will not be accepted and will render the online application incomplete.  The following documents must be sent to Scholarship America to complete your application: 

Income Tax Documents

• U.S. -- Copy of the most recently filed 1040 (first two pages). If your child is not listed as a dependent on your 1040, please provide the 1040 of the person supporting the student. 
• Puerto Rico -- Copy of the most recently filed planilla (first three pages and schedule A1). If you completed Schedule CO of the planilla, you must also submit a copy of the Schedule. If your child is not listed as a dependent on your planilla, please provide the planilla of the person supporting the student.

Other Documents

• The student's most recent transcript of grades (grade reports will not be accepted)
• Legible photocopy of student's drivers license

Late applications, incomplete applications or documents postmarked or received after the deadline will not be processed.

Scholarship decisions will be sent via postal mail in June 2010.
