Why donate?

When Clara Abbott wrote her will in 1924, she probably never imagined that her vision of caring would reach more than 60,000 employees in 60 countries. For more than 65 years, The Clara Abbott Foundation has helped thousands of Abbott families during the most challenging times of their lives. And, while the most difficult cases are at the heart of The Foundation’s mission, they are also the most taxing on The Foundation’s resources.

Who does your donation help?
Battling cancer can be devastating for most. But not for Abbott employee, Arlene Rojas. Arlene, mother of three and Abbott Philippines employee for nearly 20 years, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 42. With her lifetime health coverage exhausted from the cancer surgery, Arlene turned to The Clara Abbott Foundation for financial help to complete the necessary follow-up treatments. Arlene credits The Foundation for giving her the hope to live life to the fullest. "It is no exaggeration that without The Foundation, I could have lost my battle with cancer. I'm thankful that The Foundation has been by my side throughout this journey."

Arlene turned her battle with cancer into a learning experience that changed her life. "This experience has taught me a lot of reasons to celebrate life today and every day." Arlene says she now values her relationships with family and friends more than ever before. "I will never forget The Clara Abbott Foundation for touching my life. On behalf of my family, thank you so much for everything!"

How can I give?
The Board of Directors of The Clara Abbott Foundation has elected to keep fund-raising operations as simple as possible and dedicate the bulk of resources toward our core mission and programs. Therefore, the Foundation has carefully outlined the ideal ways of giving below. It is recommended that, if establishing a trust, you designate an external trustee, such as a bank or financial advisor.
